Grounded in Care. Guided by Growth.

Sunflower Psychotherapy and Counselling was founded on the belief that healing starts when you feel seen, safe, and understood.
Here, therapy is not just about addressing pain, it’s about rediscovering your strength, your voice, and your ability to grow.

Meet Chantelle Vaz

Hello and welcome. I’m Chantelle Vaz (She/her), Registered Psychotherapist and the founder of Sunflower Psychotherapy and Counselling.

My journey toward becoming a therapist began long before my formal training. Even as a teenager, I found myself drawn to listening and supporting others through their challenges. Over the years, this passion has grown into a deep commitment to helping people feel seen, heard, and valued for who they truly are.

In my work, I strive to create a warm, inclusive, and empowering space where you can show up as your full self. I believe that every person holds innate strength and resilience, and that healing begins when we feel safe enough to explore our stories with compassion and curiosity. My approach is strength-based, empowerment-focused, and relational, recognizing that growth often happens through connection both within ourselves and with others.

As a therapist of colour, I bring a culturally supportive and neurodiversity-affirming lens to my work. I deeply value inclusivity and strive to honour the unique identities, backgrounds, and lived experiences each person brings. Whether you’re exploring your sense of self, navigating neurodivergence, or working through relationship and attachment patterns, I am here to walk alongside you in a way that fosters understanding, confidence, and authentic change.

Together, we’ll create a personalized path toward wellness, one rooted in empathy, self-discovery, and the belief that you already hold the potential to grow and heal.
